Design brief activity

The design brief learning activity is in two phases:

  1. developing a design brief, and
  2. responding to a design brief.

The phases will be completed over two successive weeks in class (or equivalent for online students) but will require some preparation and reflection outside class time.

Online students
You may work individually or in a small group with 1 to 2 colleagues to develop a design brief and respond to a brief developed by another group. If you opt to work in a small group, you will be responsible for negotiating your own group membership and for recording that where appropriate.
On campus students
You will work with a small group of colleagues in class to develop a design brief and respond to a brief developed by another group. Groups will be negotiated in tutorial classes during Week 12 (second week after professional experience to allow for makeup days). If you are unable to attend class in that week you should confer with your colleagues and arrange to work with a small group prior to that class.
